Product End of Life
Dear Valued Customer,
Since our acquisition of certain
Trex Medical assets in 2000, Hologic Inc. has continued to provide replacement
parts, on-site and in-house repair services and technical support for
many of the products offered by Trex Medical at that time. The continuation
of these services was deemed an appropriate business function for the
benefit of our loyal customer base.
Hologic has strived over the past
five years to maintain support for this extensive suite of mature products;
however, a current assessment of many of the products in the portfolio
has determined that the present MQSA regulations, in conjunction with
the unavailability of some technology and replacement parts, prevent
us from effectively continuing these services. As a result, an "End of Life" plan for these products has been developed and is currently being made available to our customers. If the "End of Life" for
any product affects you, we encourage you to contact Hologic to discuss
special incentives for replacement equipment. We are optimistic that
our incentive plans will make it very feasible for Hologic to continue
to meet your future mammography needs and stay current with the MQSA
requirements.
A detailed "End of Life" plan is posted on our website and should help
you in identifying any products that you own that may be affected by
this program. To access this plan, click
here. For your convenience,
products are organized by brand name; i.e.; all Lorad breast imaging
products can be found in the Lorad section, and all the Bennett products
will be grouped within the Bennett section. Products within each brand
are listed in chronological order, beginning with the earliest date
of release.
The "End of Life" plan will not immediately affect customers who are
covered by existing Hologic service contracts for the listed products.
Please note, however, that those contracts will not be renewable at
the ends of their terms, and the applicable End of Life plan provisions
will take effect when those contracts expire.
