Course Description:

The goal of the course is to teach technologists and radiologists how to operate the system and provide them with an in-depth knowledge of system functionality to maximize the performance of the unit. Training is limited to 3 technologists and 3 radiologists to maximize the learning experience. If additional participants need to be trained additional training must be purchased separately. Performing scheduled patient procedures is required to complete training and should be scheduled to occur during the latter portion of training.

Course Prerequisites:

• The participating technologists should be certified mammographers and have some knowledge of stereotaxis


• If system is new, physicist evaluation, state certification and ACR approval may be required prior to training


• Some state regulations vary on certification of unit. Additional time between physicist and start of training may be needed in some states. Please be aware of your state regulations.
• Basic computer experience is needed including the ability to use a keyboard and mouse for data entry

Course Cost:

Initial application training of 3 technologists and 3 radiologists is included in the system purchase. Tuition for additional on-site training is $1700 for the first day. Each additional day is $700. The fee includes travel and lodging for the instructor and the tuition for training. Hologic recommends 3 days of instruction for new operators. Tuition payment (purchase order, check or credit card) is due before scheduling can occur. Scheduling is typically 6 weeks in advance.
