Operator Training - Osteoporosis Assessment
Discovery, Explorer, Delphi, and QDR 4500 Systems
Hologic offers operator training courses to new customers and those who may have additional staff that could not participate during the original training session. The training is approximately 10-12 hours in length depending on the system and its configuration. Technologist training is approved for Category A credit by the ASRT. Credits are awarded and dependant upon the amount of time each technologist spends with the applications training instructor.
Course Description:
The goal of the course is to teach operators how to perform scans on patients and provide the operator with an overview of system functionality. Training is limited to 4 students to maximize the learning experience. If additional participants need to be trained, additional days of training must be purchased separately.
Course Prerequisites:
- Comfortable with direct patient contact
- Knowledge of lumbar spine, proximal femur, and forearm anatomy with the ability to identify and label anatomical landmarks
- Basic computer experience is needed including the ability to use a keyboard or mouse for data entry
- The participating operators may be required to have medical professional licensing
Course Cost:
Initial application training of 4 students is included in the system purchase. Additional on-site tuition is $1000 per 6-hour day. The fee includes travel and lodging for the instructor and the tuition for training. Hologic recommends 2 days of instruction for new operators. Tuition payment (check or credit card) is due before scheduling can occur. Scheduling is typically out 2 - 3 weeks.
