We started with this strong conviction as a small imaging company over two decades ago. About Our Women's Health Solutions
Breast Health
Hologic's dedication to the early detection, intervention and treatment of breast cancer is unmatched. Solutions range from Selenia® digital mammography systems and computer aided detection to the MammoPad® breast cushion.
Selenia Dimensions ® is the first commercially available tool to deliver on the extraordinary promise of breast tomosynthesis. The system features one-touch control for seamless, instantaneous transition between imaging modes: full-field digital mammography (2D imaging), breast tomosynthesis (3D imaging), or "combo-mode" imaging (2D+3D imaging), Hologic's unique feature that quickly acquires a traditional digital mammogram and a breast tomosynthesis scan in the same compression.
To aid in a timely and efficient breast cancer diagnosis, Hologic also offers breast biopsy equipment that may be used under all three imaging modalities, stereotactic, ultrasound, and MRI. If breast cancer is caught early enough, breast brachytherapy treatments, like MammoSite® five-day targeted radiation therapy may be an alternative to whole breast irradiation or a mastectomy.
Gynecological Health
Hologic is working for women's health on several fronts, including cervical cancer screening. Together the ThinPrep® Pap test and the Cervista™ HPV (human papilloma virus) test deliver a more accurate cervical cancer screening solution.
Adiana ® Permanent Contraception is a safe and simple hysteroscopic procedure that provides women with permanent contraception.
Our MyoSure ® hysteroscopic tissue removal system is an effective and less invasive solution for women who may think a hysterectomy is the only solution.
NovaSure® Endometrial Ablation is a safe, simple and minimally invasive procedure that reduces or eliminates excessive menstrual bleeding for 9 out of 10 women.
Prenatal Health
Hologic's fetal fibronectin test is a well-established aid in assessing preterm birth risk - it provides valuable information that may support management and treatment options for the mother. Hologic also offers a second important test for women during pregnancy called InPlex® CF : it is a molecular test that can identify
genetic mutations associated with cystic fibrosis.
Skeletal Health
Osteoporosis is a growing healthcare crisis affecting millions of women and men worldwide. Fortunately, bone density testing is safe and non-invasive and when osteoporosis is detected early, it is treatable. Hologic offers bone density equipment that provides a broad spectrum of care of patients in a single platform. Our bone densitometry systems not only help manage your patient's bone health, but
also obesity and visualization of calcifications in the abdominal aorta that may indicate heart disease, and many other clinical applications.
We've taken our commitment to bone health one step further with our Fluoroscan mini C-arm imaging and extremity MRI systems.
Laboratory Solutions
Hologic is committed to providing laboratories with the most innovative and effective technologies, as well as best-in-class customer service. Our ThinPrep® Pap test revolutionized cervical cancer screening a decade ago and now the ThinPrep imaging system is becoming the new standard of care in cytology, utilizing computer technology, automatically
scanning every cell and cell cluster, to highlight areas of interest for human analysis.
The Cellient® automated cell block system is the first fully automated cell block system. The vacuum-assisted filtration concentrates available cells within the block. The result is diagnostically useful, higher-quality blocks that can be reviewed efficiently - all in under an hour.
Hologic's molecular solutions are based on the company's proprietary Invader® chemistry, a robust and versatile technology. Cervista™ HPV HR and Cervista HPV 16/18 are FDA approved tests that provide improved reliability and productivity to laboratory customers.
Invader chemistry also powers InPlex® CF, our test for cystic fibrosis mutation carrier screening, as well as genetic tests associated with blood coagulation, thrombophilia, and other applications.
