Hologic and InSiteOne Sign Agreement to Expand Access of Leading Edge Image Management Services to Digital Mammography Centers

BEDFORD, Mass. (November 26, 2003) - Hologic, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOLX) a leading provider of specialized medical imaging equipment for women's health, today announced the signing of a distribution agreement with InSiteOne, the industry leader in integrated on-site and off-site storage and archiving services for digital medical images. Under the terms of the agreement, Hologic will have non-exclusive distribution rights in the United States for InSiteOne's proprietary image management service, InDex® (Internet DICOM Express).

InDex is an efficient, "pay-as-you-go, price per study" service that includes both online, nearline and disaster recovery/business continuance image storage and access. InDex allows hospitals to leverage digital imaging technologies while reducing capital costs for equipment, maintenance, storage and personnel. InDex integrates with Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) or directly with DICOM-compliant digital modalities, as well as hospital networks and information systems. InDex will be offered by Hologic as an image management solution to the growing base of mammography centers using its Lorad Selenia full field digital mammography system.

"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to offer InSiteOne's powerful image management service, InDex, to our digital mammography customers," said Hologic Chairman and CEO Jack W. Cumming. "The emergence of digital mammography has accelerated the need for innovative solutions providing speed, flexibility, and redundancy in image storage and retrieval. InSiteOne has clearly demonstrated its leadership and progressive thinking in this arena. We look forward to a long and productive relationship."

Hologic entered the digital mammography market in 2002, with commercialization of its Lorad Selenia, the industry's first digital mammography system utilizing revolutionary direct capture technology. Direct capture technology preserves image sharpness by completely eliminating image degradation caused by light diffusion. Hologic's portfolio of products also includes the M-IV and Affinity Series of screen-film mammography systems, and a customized ultrasound system optimized for women's imaging and manufactured by Aloka Company, Ltd. The company also provides both upright and prone stereotactic breast biopsy systems.

Commenting on the agreement, Jim Champagne, Senior Vice President of InSiteOne said, "Our proprietary service, InDex, is ideally suited to the unique needs of the digital mammography community, based on the strength of the technology, the value of our services, and the effectiveness of our economic model. We are excited about the opportunity this agreement brings to expand access to this highly effective and economical storage solution to Hologic's extensive network of current and future digital mammography customers."
