Thanks to the merger of R2 Technology and Hologic, R2 mammography applications software tools including Citra™ will soon be available on the Hologic SecurViewDX multi-modality breast imaging workstation.

Citra on SecurViewDX will bring physicians a universal and 'CAD-intelligent' system for reviewing digital mammography images and, if needed, comparing them with digitized prior film images. And Citra will optimize R2 CAD mark and R2 CAD information display to assist the radiologist in review and decision-making, while streamlining workflow.

Features of Citra on SecurView DX include:

The ability of comparing current images with images from prior years by equalizing the size of all displayed images. The feature works with images from digital mammography systems that have different detector size, compression paddles and acquisition resolution as well as digitized film-screen priors.

Citra marker technology provides variable size CAD marks that correlate to lesion significance. A larger mark indicates that the R2 CAD algorithm has detected more mammographic features that are indicative of malignancy.

Citra can enhance suspicious regions in order to help the radiologist understand specific features detected by the R2 CAD algorithms

Citra can access detailed information about suspicious areas marked by the R2 CAD algorithms. Double-clicking on a marked region displays an information box with decision support parameters such as lesion size, CAD score, distance to nipple, distance to chest wall, degree of mass spiculation, mass density and number of calcifications.
