Technology honored for design that helps simplify fluid management and visualization during hysteroscopic procedures
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — Hologic, a global leader in women’s health, has been honored with an International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for its Fluent Pro fluid management system, which supports visualization and fluid control during hysteroscopy.
“This award reflects our team’s dedication to thoughtful design, clinical partnership and continuous innovation,” said Brandon Schnittker, CEO, GYN Surgical Solutions. “Our goal has always been to help serve more patients while continuing to meet the evolving needs of our customers. The Fluent Pro system is a strong example of how purposeful, user-centric design can make complex procedures feel simpler and more intuitive for the teams who rely on our technologies every day.”
Presented annually by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), one of the longest-standing and largest industrial design associations in existence, the International Design Excellence Awards recognize design excellence across industries and disciplines. This year the organization received more than 2,000 entries.
The Fluent Pro system is designed to deliver seamless integration and an intuitive user experience that supports procedural performance, including during procedures that use the MyoSure® tissue removal system, a device that removes fibroids and polyps through hysteroscopy. The user interface provides setup, operation and troubleshooting help screens that are easily accessible throughout the procedure. The system also provides suction control to resect simple to complex types of pathology designed for improved MyoSure procedures.
The Fluent Pro interface aims to support the broader operating room team, including physicians performing procedures and nursing staff coordinating setup and room flow. Its user-centric design reflects the realities of the clinical environment, helping physicians stay focused on patient care and procedural execution. The system is also designed to simplify workflows and help teams operate with greater consistency and confidence.
More than 1,020 hospital systems across the United States use the Fluent Pro system, allowing clinical teams nationwide to benefit from this award-winning technology.
